Cholesterol and Triglycerides...

This following email just came through from a customer and related to an article which I felt many readers would be interested in.

“I've been taking your supplements for a number of years now and whenever I get my cholesterol checked out my doctor doesn't understand why I insist on finding out my triglyceride level. I had read Warren's columns' in the past and I guess this recent report confirms what Warren preaches."

Hi Farzin,

If your triglycerides are reading at 345 then this is high. It would be helpful to know what your other levels are (your total cholesterol, your LDL, and your HDL figures) to see how these compare.

High triglycerides alone can be greatly helped by changes in diet, such as a reduction in processed foods, hydrogenated oils and carbs. So avoiding processed foods and concentrating on an increase in fresh foods, salads, vegetables would be helpful.

Grape seed oil is a helpful alternative to hydrogenated oils. Plenty of raw vegetables, lentils, seeds and fish are all helpful staple foods.

As a supplement regime, you could try Cholest-Natural at 2 softgels per evening; Omega 3/DHAs at 4 softgels per day initially, for around 3 months, then reducing to 2 per day for maintenance.

Total Balance could be added as a good daily regime and an aid to this protocol.

Exercise and diet/fluid intake are important during this process and for maintenance.

I would re-evaluate this after 3 months to see any progress or potential changes that need to be made.
