China starts to clean up its Act...
In the wake of recent scandals involving contaminated foods coming out of China the Chinese National Food Regulator has taken steps to clean up the industry. Part of these steps will require food processors to upgrade their facilities or face closure.
It is estimated that half of all Chinese food processors will go out of business as a result of these new measures! That will be a lot! Whereas it is always sad to see people lose their business there is however no excuse for any business who produces contaminated or unsafe goods.
On the other hand they would not have that opportunity if there were not greedy and unscrupulous people and companies who were prepared to buy these substandard goods for resale, so, in that respect the international buyers should share some of the blame along with the Chinese.

The entire "unsafe for human consumption and/or use" has got me scared! First, I have stopped buying anything for these "Dollar Stores" as a great many of their products are imported from overseas, especially the Asian Market. I no longer buy food, especially seafood, from Asian markets. I found this difficult to do, since most of the seafood sold in my area(Ohio, USA) comes from Asia. I live in Ohio, which is one of the largest producers of Soy, yet I cannot find nor buy any soybeans (Edamame pods) that are grown and sold locally. It begs the question: If China (or any other world market) sells those same contaminated goods to their citizens? I think not. In our quest to get the cheapest goods at the cheapest labor, we've put our health, and that of our loved-ones in jeopardy! With the rise of breast cancer or other ailments, it's either the water, food or air that we breath that is contaminated. Forearmed is Forewarned! Note: I am notcondeming Asian imports...I am more savvy and informed consumer. By the way, I get my Omega 3 oil capsules from you, and NO ONE ELSE, AS I HAVE DONE MY RESEARCH.

Hi Sherrie,
Thank you for your comments and your encouraging words about our Omega 3.
Yes, comtamination in all forms including the air that we breathe is a problem. Becoming a savvy consumer is definitely the way to go. You have probably found that there China is not the only culprit. For example, I know of problems within the US where respected US distributors of raw ingredients for supplements adulterate them to make them go further.
Also, sometimes we have seen supplements that are manufactured and sold in the US that are marketed at a price less than the cost of the raw ingredients? That is a 'head scratcher'. Are the ingredients contaminated? Are they out of date?
Unfortunately there will always be problems in this area whilst there are unthinking consumers whom unscupulous marketers can take advantage of.
