Mannatech in trouble with Texas!
Mannatech which is an MLM company with more than 500,000 distributors is in hot water again due to continued use by their distributors of dubious testimonials related to their products.
Last time I mentioned something negative about Mannatech on this blog I had a series of emails from some irate customers who are also distributors of Mannatech and whom had been buying our Omega 3. Then as now I was only reporting facts, and so what I personally experienced then was a case of people 'shooting the messenger'. Never mind, there will always be people who get upset when the truth on a matter is exposed.
Anyway, in this case I am not going to dwell on the matter but rather give you the link to an article about the current situation in case you are interested.
Although it is not mentioned within the current proceedings Mannatech gained some degree of notoriety with regard to testimonials a few years ago which it was made public that a testimonial that had been prepared by them and widely circulated about a child was exposed to be not only untrue but against the wishes of the people involved.
A claim was being made that an individual had been cured of a disease by using a Mannatech product whereas the person involved (who was a child) had actually died. The parents complained about the continued use of this testimonial but it was continued to be used for a considerable time longer.
I think that Mannatech has some good although overpriced products. However, there is never a valid excuse for using either false or misleading testimonials so, I guess the current situation is that you 'reap what you sow'

Living in Texas I am thrilled to see this happen, and being a sales person it is wonderful to know that misrepresenting information or outright lying to sell a product is criminal in my opinion. Especially when peoples health and emotional well being are at stake.
I hope this sends a message to a lot of this MLM's that lie to get you to join the organization...and encourage what ever it takes to make that big.....money, which by the way is mainly a carrot dangled in front of the nose or a wanna-b- millionare.
