I saw a video news item the other day talking about how researchers have found that the risk of breast cancers was much lower in women who had higher levels of Vitamin D.
It also said that many Doctors still do not advocate exposure to sunshine which is the best source of Vitamin D because of the risk of skin cancer. When will these Doctors wake up and examine the evidence. The risk of the fatal form of skin cancer is LESS if you have exposure to the sun than if you don't.
Vitamin D in supplements is fine and needed at the modest levels we use...but NOT in mega doses as it can induce toxicity. However, you cannot overdose with Vitamin D from the sun as our body's have the appropriate mechanism's to store any excess for future use.
Anyway have a look at the video by clicking here.

Please don't be afraid of the sun...welcome it. Just be sensible and don't get burnt.

I was surprised to know that the risk to get cancer is higher when you get less exposure to sun, it was an eye opener.
Although I would still like to know how can we balance between the risk of getting skin cancer from the sun and the risk of not getting exposed to it, the question is how much is too much? how much is the time that we should get exposed to sun yet not cross the line of being over-exposed to it in which this way will reverse the benefiting process?

Hi Ahmed,
The key with sun exposure is to get as much as you can without getting burnt. That amount will vary from person to person. Some people can stay out in the sun for a long time whereas others can only have short bursts and will have to do it more frequently.

hi, what about anitoxidants which can prevent cancer?
I defeated breast cancer and now I am having this drink regularly and it's helping me a lot, it's called purple.
If you want more information you can get it on www.drinkpurple.com . Yes, I agree vitamin D is important but why not have a full package which can save you from or prevent it? I advocate purple as a survivor of cancer to everyone from children to oldies.

Looks like a good drink Julia, Antioxidants are crucial but they are only part of the equation in preventing cancer, You also have to consider glycation, methylation and inflammation. They are all interelated.
I think it would be good to drink this or, alternatively buy the fruit and make up your own juices. However, the juices still fall way short of the cancer preventive properties of Total Balance.
