Lot's of medications...
Question: from Stu
I am a 67 year old male. I had 2 coronary stents in January 2007 followed by another stent fitted inside one of those in October 2007 due to restenosis. I have been unable to exercise a great deal due to disc prolapse and resultant pain, Consequently I am overweight but slowly reducing.
My daily medication is as follows;-
Karvea 300mg 1 tab.
Aspirin 100mg 1 tab
Imdur (Duride) 120 mg 2 tabs daily
Plavix 75 mg 1 tab
Crestor 10mg 1 tab
Nicorandil (Ikorel) 20 mg 2 tabs daily
Verapamil 40mg 3 tabs daily
Can you please advise me of any restrictions or conflicts between your products and my current regime.
I have taken your products in the past and recently recommenced with Total Balance, Fish Oil and Arthrit-Eze. Any further recommendations would be appreciated.

These are a lot of meds! We can check if there are any known interactions between these and our products. Generally there isn’t.
But, the problem is that there will undoubtedly be interactions between the meds themselves when you are taking this many. Once you start taking more than 3 med a day, no one, and I mean no one really knows what is happening, even the pharmaceutical companies! This is because most meds rely on the blocking of various enzymes in the body which are used to carry out certain chemical reactions. When you block these and introduce other drugs that block other enzymes there is no telling what is going on.
Given that you have had stents and a recurring problem there is no doubt that you have a plaque build up in your arteries. That being the case I think that you should seriously consider our Cardio-Klenz. Maybe drop off the Arthrit-Eze in the meantime unless your pain is too severe. Keep on with the Total Balance and if you do drop of the Arthrit-eze change from the Omega 3 DHA to the GLM Omega 3 Plus at say double the dose at 6 soft gels a day. This will give you the equivalent of a double dose of Omega 3 DHA and double the amount of green lipped mussel extract which will help with inflammation and thus the pain.
I will ask Joanna to check the products against our data bases for the meds that you are taking and she will email you direct. BUT…I would urge you to have a talk to your physician and truly establish the need for all these meds. Some Doctors prescribe these drugs whether they are needed or not. For example, a statin is always prescribed after a stent but sometimes the cholesterol levels are OK and are not needed. Have a look at your levels, if they are normal and were before you started the Crestor and your triglycerides are OK it is likely you don’t need them.
In other words question each drug and establish that they are really needed. Ask if your blockages were due to cholesterol or general plaque.
It is crucial that you try to ‘wean’ off as many drugs as possible to prevent going down a ‘slippery slope’.
Having said all that, it may be that there is no choice but for you to take all of these, but at least question the Doc and if you feel uneasy with the answers get another professional opinion. Remember that the Doc’s go by the ‘book’ which is not always right for each individual case.

Hi there,
I'm 21 male, and i wanted to increase the density or mass of my bones, i always had skiny bones, maybe its because i never did or still do not drink milk.
Even teenagers have more wider dense bones, example my wrist.
Is there anything i could do to change that or take something for it?

Hi James,
I would suggest that you start using our Bone-Protec at the rate of 3 capsules a day. This should help. Also, try to eat as much dark green fresh vegetables as possible as that will also benefit your bones.
And...don't overlook the importance of weight bearing exercise for building strong bones. This is very important.
