Injured knee...

Question: from Elaine

I am 61 years old and have seriously injured my knee - possibly a torn tendon at the miniscus. I desperately need to try to heal this, as everything I do is predicated upon walking, lifting, digging (I'm a gardener). Could you suggest a program which might help with this? I have been trying acupuncture for a while to reduce inflammation, but there's a long way to go. There is a real danger of permanent damage if I can't improve my situation enough to function safely. I'm grateful for any advice.

Answer: from Warren

Yes, a knee injury is certainly something that you want to fix as soon as possible, more so for you being an active person.
You have to do two things. One, to help settle down the inflammation and two to provide the nutrients needed to help with the repair.

If I were you I would this is what I would do:

!. Add our GLM Omega 3 Plus and our Arthrit-Eze to your daily supplement regime. These products will help settle down the inflammation and give your body the basic nutrients that it needs to rebuild cartilage. If you check out the ingredients in Arthrit-Eze on our website you will get a better appreciation as to how it may help.

Take three soft gels of the GLM-Omega 3 per day, and 6 tablets of the Arthrit-Eze. You could cut the Arthrit-eze back to 3 tabs a day after a couple of months.

2. If you are not already taking it add Total Balance to your regime as well. This will help with overall cell health and to help prevent general degeneration. These can be taken at 6 per day, ideally.

We have many customers who have found that this protocol has really helped their rehabilitation. Good luck.

The best curative treatment for a torn ligament/tendon is prolotherapy. Many references available on the internet.

Thanks Phil. I just had a look at some of the references for this. Interesting. Agreed, it could be worth while for Elaine to look into this further. It would seem though that it is important to find a physician who is experienced in administering the injections.

I had miniscus repairs done about 2 years ago. But it didn't help the Arthritis. Then last December I had a series of injections by my knee surgeon. It was a medication not prolotherapy. There are about 3 brands. Two with a 3 series and one with 5 series of injections. They are only susposed to last 6 months, but since I take GLM-Omega 3 and Total Balance among others I have been able to toss my knee brace and don't need the injections again. At least not yet. These injections are used for both injury and Arthritis.
