Question: from James
What can you do about hair loss for men?
I have taken Propecia almost 2 years ago for 4 months without any success only to have anxiety problems a year later, which I think was a side effect from the product, since I never had such a problem before or after I stopped taking it.
The other thing was I paid thousand to be seen and to just to get that pill.
There is a very high demand for a natural alternative out there for a well made product that can at least help to slow down the problem.
Is or has Xtend life ever looked into this problem ever or thought about a possible product that could help maybe in the future?
Answer: from Warren
I agree with you. There is certainly a demand for a natural alternative. Propecia is not all it is cracked up to be and there are a lot of potential side effects.
The principle behind Propecia is to reduce the production of dihydrotestosterone which is thought to be a contributor to baldness. But, it does not work for all men. There are several natural alternatives that have a similar action, such as saw palmetto. But that only works for a few as well.
We did some work on this problem a couple of years ago and developed both an oral supplement and a topical lotion and did some testing with a number of volunteers. Although some men reported an improvement I think that the improvement was primarily psychological and minimal at the physical level.
If we had gone to the trouble to test improvement at the laboratory level I am sure we could have measured a result. Then with a bit of clever playing with percentages it could be made to look very successful.
BUT…I couldn’t see enough visible benefits with the naked eye to warrant actually releasing a product to customers.
I am convinced that based on current scientific knowledge that it is not possible to product a natural effective hair restorer.
However, if hair loss is due to poor general health that can be dealt with quite easily and we have plenty of evidence to support this. It is not uncommon for men and women to write saying how their hair loss has slowed after they started taking Total Balance. This is not surprising given that often hair loss is due to a nutrient deficiency. (Some men have said that it reversed their graying, That didn’t work for me, :) )
I personally think that the best solution is a hair transplant. It is safe and effective.
Interestingly did you know that if you take hair from the back of your head and put it in a bald spot that you will never go bald in that area? Quite fascinating really! Neither Propecia or anything else for that matter is not going to change that.
I also understand that technology is advancing to a point in which you may be able to have your own hair grown in a lab and then have it transplanted.
But, in the meantime I think that your best bet is to forget about a lotion or a drug or a supplement specifically to grow hair. Best to focus on your overall general health! This will help ensure that your hair does not recede any faster than your programmed genetic make up.

I agree with you on this too, a natural alternative could help maybe with people who still got their hair and have not gone bald and only are starting to lose some hair, but it need a full proper research which must be followed up for many months...
I have met to and spoke to this compay in the UK which have come up with ways better than convetional hair transplant using different was of treating hair loss without the use of propecia and chemical based treatment.

Is this the type of transplant your talking about?

Hi John,
They seem to be promoting laser treatment which I am sceptical about. They also mention hair grafting but give no details so I really can't give an opinion...sorry.

The laser they say does not make your hair grow but it stimulates blood flow, and making minoxodil more effective as a topical, with that they also use Saw palmetto instead of Propecia, that treament is for people who got they hair yet ut are starting to lose some hair.
And with the hair grafting, they say they will take some hair off you maybe on the back of the head and take it to a lab and find hair that is identical to yours and put it on your head without any surgery or holes.
He also said you could pull, wash, swim, go to your hairdreser and nobody will notice anything and it will stay on your head and go nowhere.
The only downside being if you cut it, it wont grow back.
It was hard to believe, the guy who consultated me and was seating in front of me told me he had just that done himself, and i can tell you there is no way you could have noticed that he had done anything to his hair, it just looked very real!
He showed me his before picture and i could see in front of me how he looked now.
You could see his before and after picture on the website, he is the second guy on the right with the black suit:

I also think he is from New Zealand.

Hi Warren,
I have a situation with baldness in my family on both my mother's and father's sides. My father, grandfathers, brother and sons all have hair loss yet I have a full head of hair. The only factor that may explain my good fortune is the fact that I have washed my hair practically every day massaging with a stiff nylon scalp brush.

Actually, there is a product available that works quite well - an L-Arginine cream sold by Strategic Science Technologies. The cream is expensive and results are slow in coming. Nonetheless, it does work - even in the front, for a receeding hairline. I have been using it for some three years, and I have recovered at least 90% of the hair lost to my receeding hairline, and probably 75-80% on the crown in the rear.

Massaging pure virgin coconut oil into the scalp a short while before shampooing has promoted good growth in bald areas and improved general hair condition. Effects noticeable in a month or two - worth a try maybe.
