We have been using Zeaxanthin in our three Total Balance formulas for more than 5 years when the evidence relating to its benefits to the eyes became indisputable.
It’s an extremely potent carotenoid…many times more so than its ‘cousin’ Lutein! Mind you it would be expected to be more potent given that it costs twenty (20) times as much as Lutein. That is if you buy the best form which is produced under the brand name ‘OptisharpTM’. (The cost is one of the reasons why you often don’t see it in supplements)
Zeaxanthin is extracted from the Marigold flower as is Lutein, although it uses a much more complex extraction process and the yield is a lot lower.
There has been dozens of studies of this nutrient proving how effective it is in helping prevent cataracts and AMD. There are also studies showing how it can also help healthy eyes by way of reducing susceptibility to glare.
One such study has just been released which used a combination of Lutein and 2 mgs of OptisharpTM which is the same as we use in Total Balance. If you would like to read more about this then please click here.
Many people who take Total Balance are unaware of the benefits that they are getting for their eye’s and some express surprise when after a year or two they find their vision has improved along with the general health of their eyes.

Hi Warren,
My wife and I have taken T.B. regularly for less than a year and have noticable sight improvement. I've never worn glasses but I could tell some time ago that my eyesight wasn't what it used to be. I thought that I would need to get glasses sooner than later. My wife has worn glasses for many years and her optometrist was shocked at her exam last week which showed unusual improvement in her vision. She had been having increasing difficulty in focusing properly with her current prescription. She thought her vision was getting worse, but it turned out to be the opposite. Thanks to T.B. we don't have to eat Marigolds!:-)
