Untreated eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataract, macular degeneration and retinopathy can all lead to blindness. 

Taking preventative measures before an eye condition develops is of course the best approach. Obviously it is important to follow a healthy lifestyle, with a favourable diet and adequate exercise to ensure good blood flow to your eyes and optimum immune strength to fight any infection.
